Incontinence, also known as bladder incontinence, is the loss of bladder control. The bladder is the organ that stores urine. When functioning normally, a person urinates or releases the urine from their bladder when the bladder is full or when they feel the urge. Incontinence occurs when the bladder is not emptying properly, resulting in a sudden and uncontrollable loss of urine.
The condition is usually a result of weakened pelvic floor muscles that insufficiently support pelvic organs, thus decreasing bladder control.
Emsella is an anterior chair-mounted device that uses proprietary electromagnetic technology to assist with bladder control. This noninvasive chair is FDA-cleared and is clinically proven to improve continence, leakage, and urgency.
The Emsella chair uses electromagnetic energy to provide biofeedback to pelvic floor muscles. This stimulation occurs through strategically placed pads that comfortably sit on the chair, targeting the muscles that control bladder control. The electromagnetic signal prompts the muscles to contract, strengthening and toning them for better muscle control. The chair stimulates muscle contractions to control urine leakage unknowingly.
Emsella uses tiny micro-currents to stimulate the pelvic muscles. The chair will train and strengthen the muscles to prevent them from leaking.
The micro-currents are sent through the muscles in the form of gentle pulses. The pulses stimulate the muscles to contract and relax. During each treatment, the contractions are repeated multiple times. Over time, the muscles will strengthen and tighten, reducing incontinence.
The advantages of Emsella include the following:
Emsella is a minimally invasive, in-office treatment that typically takes less than 30 minutes to perform. There is no downtime associated with Emsella, so you can return to your normal activities right away. The results of Emsella are immediate, although they may continue to improve over the next few weeks.
Emsella has been treating patients with mild to moderate incontinence since 2012. If your doctor has recommended Emsella chair treatment and you are interested in getting started, give us a call. Our patient care coordinators are available to answer your questions and help you with treatment.
We provide the lowest prices in the region for Emsella treatment. Our prices for Emsella sessions are as follows:
Most patients receive 12 to 16 treatment sessions, performed once or twice a week, depending on the particular need. Each session lasts about 15 to 20 minutes. Emsella chair treatment is covered by most insurances.
